Phetchabun (เพชรบูรณ์) is a city in the Northern Thailand region. The city is also the capital of the province of the same name.
Phetchabun is located about 360 km north of Bangkok via the road.
The route over the road leads via Saraburi on usually good four -lane roads.
Phetchabun borders the provinces of Loei, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphu, Lopburi, Nakhon Sawan,
Phichit and Phitsanulok.
The province is located in the wide and fertile valley of the Pa Sak River, with the
mountains of the Phetchabun mountain chain in the east and west.
The Khao Kho National Park, Nao National Park, and Tat Mok National Park are all in the
province, wholly or partly.
Phetchabun and in particular Khao Kho is a place with good and cool weather throughout the
year.
That is why Phetchabun has the nickname the "Switzerland of Thailand".
